Sony have upped the bar
I thought the Creative Zen Mozaic was bad enough but Sony have managed to raise the level of ugly with their PMX-U55 personal media player. I am not sure which bit of the above image I dislike the most, the picture of the dog or the media player itself. I just hope that the device looks better in real life than the computer generated version of it. Thankfully I won’t need to look upon it again for a while as it is currently only available in China but I am sure it won’t be long before it invades the shops over here.
There is not even anything in its specifications to redeem it:
- 2GB flash memory
- 2.4″(320×240) display
- Mpeg4, H.264/AVC video formats
- MP3, WMA, AAC audio formats
- 68.3×86.4×7.1mm and weighs 70g
- 12 hours (audio) to 5 hours (video) of battery life
I would save your $75 (£40) and spend it on something, anything just not the Sony’s PMX-U55. In fact here are some:
- Loads of media players to choose from
- Top Bluetooth MP3 players
- Excelent clearance gadgets from Advanced MP3 player
- Wireless floating speaker (£39.95)
- Creative Zen 4GB (£37)
- X-Mini and X-Mini Max (under £20)
I am so keen that you don’t waste your money, here are some none media related things to do with your £40:
Let us know what you think of the Sony PMX-U55, do you:
A. Think it is uglier than a baboons backside
B. Think it is cute and cherish it along with your picture of Paris Hilton and love it as much as your little handbag dog
