Lyra Slider: The first PMP to use sliding technology
Mobile phones have been using the concept of sliding for a long time but it has never caught on in the portable media player arena before. Well this is about to change with the new Lyra Slider, a basic PMP which has used the concept of a sliding front to shrink in size without having to sacrifice controls.
RCA’s Lyra Slider bares more than a passing resemblance to many sliding phones on the market and to be honest, it doesn’t offer much more in features than you could find in your standard mobile phone nowadays.
Lyra Slider will support all the usual formats and the rechargeable battery will last you 50hours for audio playback and 8 hours when watching your favourite video. There is an FM radio, photo slide show and for the budding reporters out there, the Lyra Slider comes with an integrated voice and media recorder.
It should be available this fall and will set you back $79.99 (4GB) / $99.99 (8GB).
