Mind reading music player
I have always wondered what it would be like to have a sound track to my life, like they do in movies. When I am happy and it is sunny I can stroll down the street to something cheerful where as when I am in a mood I would hear something equally glum. Musinaunt, a French company may well make it a reality, they want to make the music you listen to change according to your mood.
Musinaunt intend to achieve this with their new player which is capable of reading your brain waves, interpreting them, and then giggling the music around to match your state of mind. Seems good on paper and looks good in the video below but there is a down side and it’s quite a big one in my opinion. Rather than just mixing existing songs automatically as your mood changes Musinaunt has gone with a new format called MXP4. This new format is unlike any other, rather than just containing one mix of a song it contains several different variations, all recorded by the artist, it also has embedded graphic. When the player detects your mood has changed it will change the music and player skin accordingly. Although the company defends this saying the song becomes a living creature, with endless variations so you should never hear the same song twice, I feel they have missed a great opportunity. Forcing people to buy their version of the music is not a wise move.
I would like to see someone take this technology and turn it into a more generic product that I can use on my mp3 collection. Let us know what you think.
